Dr. Kazunari Yoshida, MD PhD

Dr. Kazunari Yoshida received his MD from Tokushima University, Japan, in 2007, and his PhD from the Keio University School of Medicine, Japan, in 2017, respectively. He has been performing a series of clinical trials, focusing on optimal psychotropic treatment for psychiatric disorders. Since joining Pharmacogenetics Research Clinic at CAMH as a postdoctoral research fellow, he has specialized in pharmacogenetics and clinical psychopharmacology in psychiatric conditions including schizophrenia, and adults with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability. Dr. Yoshida aims to identify genetic factors that predict response to psychotropic medications, including antipsychotic and antidepressant medications, which can ultimately optimize pharmacological treatment in these populations.
